Who processes your payment
Payments on this site are handled by licensed payment processors. We never receive, display or store card numbers.
| Processor | Payment methods | What it receives | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Apple Pay, Google Pay | Card details, amount, email address, billing address | stripe.com/privacy |
| PayPal | PayPal account and cards linked to it | Amount, email address, delivery address, order description | paypal.com — privacy statement |
What paying looks like
- You fill in your delivery details on our checkout page.
- You choose a payment method — card (Stripe) or PayPal — and see the total including shipping, with VAT included.
- Clicking the button takes you to the secure page of the processor you chose, Stripe or PayPal.
- You enter your card details only there — those details never pass through our site.
- Your bank may ask for an extra confirmation (3-D Secure or an SMS code).
- Once the payment succeeds you return to our confirmation page and receive an email with the order details.
Technical safeguards
- Encrypted connection. The whole site runs over HTTPS (TLS), including the checkout page.
- No card storage. Our server never receives a card number, a CVV or an expiry date.
- PCI DSS. Compliance with the card data security standard is provided by Stripe and PayPal as the payment processors.
- 3-D Secure. Additional cardholder verification is applied whenever your bank requires it.
- Fraud checks. We review suspicious orders manually before dispatch and, where necessary, cancel them with a full refund.
Currency and conversion
All prices on this site are shown and charged in euros (EUR). The amount you see in the order summary is the final amount charged.
If your card is not denominated in euros, your bank will apply its own exchange rate and may add a currency conversion fee. That fee is set and charged by your bank — we do not receive it and we cannot influence it.
What is charged, and when
You are charged exactly the amount shown in the order summary before you confirm — the price of the items plus shipping. It is a single charge, made as soon as the payment is confirmed. There is no subscription, no deferred charge, no automatic renewal and no cancellation fee.
On your bank statement, or in your PayPal transaction history, the charge appears as ASTRIZA LLC — with PayPal it may carry a "PAYPAL *" prefix in front of that name. The seller is Astriza LLC (Sheridan, WY 82801, United States).
If you do not recognise a charge
Before you dispute a transaction with your bank, please write to contact@bistero.com with the date and the amount. In most cases it turns out to be an order placed by a family member, or a statement descriptor that differs from the brand name, and we settle it the same business day — with a refund if the charge was not justified.
Your right to dispute the transaction with your bank, or to open a case with PayPal, remains untouched and nothing here asks you to waive it. If you do open a dispute, we cooperate with your bank and the processor and provide the documentation about the order and the delivery.
Google Pay and Apple Pay
Both work through Stripe and use the card you already have in the wallet on your phone or computer. The merchant never receives your card number — a one-time device token travels to Stripe, and you confirm the payment with your fingerprint, your face or a PIN. Nothing changes for your rights: the amount, the invoice, the money-back guarantee and the complaints procedure are the same as for a card payment.
Paying with PayPal and Buyer Protection
You choose PayPal in step three of the checkout. You sign in to your PayPal account on PayPal's own page and confirm the payment there — from your balance or with a card you have linked to PayPal. Neither your password nor your card number reaches us, only the confirmation that the payment went through, the amount and the details needed for delivery.
- The amount is the same as with a card. PayPal charges the buyer no processing fee, and we do not add one.
- It is a single charge. We do not create a recurring billing agreement and we cannot charge you anything without a new order.
- Buyer Protection. PayPal Buyer Protection applies to the purchase under PayPal's own terms — if the goods do not arrive or differ significantly from the description, you can open a case directly with PayPal.
- Refunds go back into PayPal. We refund to the same PayPal account within 14 days of your request at the latest, with no processing fee.
- Delivery address. We pass PayPal the address you entered at checkout and ship to that address only.
Our own refund terms apply regardless of PayPal: a 30-day money-back guarantee and your statutory right of withdrawal. If something is wrong with your order, the fastest route is directly to us — write to contact@bistero.com before opening a case. Opening a PayPal case remains your right and we do not restrict it in any way.
If you do open a case, we respond within the deadline PayPal sets and supply the documentation about the order, the dispatch and the tracking. Unresolved cases are decided by PayPal under its own user agreement.
Suspect fraud?
We never ask you for card details, your PayPal password or security codes — not by email, not by phone and not by message. If you receive such a request in our name, do not reply to it and let us know at contact@bistero.com.
